The Lunar Roving Vehicle, or LRV, has become popularly known as the "moon buggy". With its modest 11mph top speed the LRV may not win any races, but it's one-of-a-kind design meant three apollo crews could each pilot it around the moon for around 30km each, allowing them further exploration and more capacity for scientific samples.
